Boxing Day Braniacs

As tradition dictates here in the wilds of Sydenham, every Boxing Day sees our family quiz, when local residents and their friends and family pile in to enjoy an evening of great food and tricky questions, with the proceeds going to St Mary's Church. This year the standards were high, with quiz master Gordon putting all the teams through their paces. Our half time break allowed everyone to replensih the little grey cells thanks to a wonderful lasagne and salad, then battle commenced once more. Congratulations to Roger and Yvonne Dean, captains of the winning team.

A very merry Christmas

We've had a wonderful Christmas season, with our special menu receiving rave reviews from new and regular customers alike. Stand out dishes included our Gressingham duck and vintage port paté, served with toasted brioche and a wonderfully warming spiced pear relish, to our main of 21 day aged beef medallions served with a marsala and peppercorn sauce. As well as a traditional Christmas pudding we also had a variety of lighter desserts to round off the seasonal meal.

Many thanks to all of our customers during the festive season who helped spread the goodwill. Here's wishing you all a Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you in 2012.
